Many breast cancer patients and survivors are experiencing treatment-related distress like change in body image and sexuality on top of the financial challenges they go through. But, they don’t have to face these challenges alone.

Katrina, of the Sista with Style fashion website, and Be Uplifted, a charity that supports women with breast cancer and their families, are now working hand in hand to make their efforts stronger.

Improving People’s Lives

Be Uplifted has chosen Katrina as its Mind, Body & Soul Ambassador. Together, they aim to improve the lives of breast cancer warriors.

Katrina is a breast cancer survivor herself. She was diagnosed in October 2013 and underwent treatment over the following years. During these trying times, she discovered relevant beauty and fashion secrets that helped her survive the emotional burden of having cancer. While undergoing treatment, she also found the desire to share what she has learnt from her own journey. She started blogging and eventually launched the Sista with Style website.

“Experiencing cancer first hand also means you become experienced in dealing with matters of self confidence, resilience, acceptance and how to be happy (I’m still not perfect at it, but I’m better than I was). I am also a big believer in that being involved in your community, the wider world and giving back (or paying it forward) feeds and nurtures the soul, which in turn, builds happiness from within,” Katrina said.
