The Event Cinemas will have an advance screening of the “Battle of the Sexes”. Starring Academy Award winning actress Emma Stone as Billie Jean King and Steve Carell as Bobby Riggs, the “Battle of the Sexes” is a drama comedy film based on the 1973 tennis match between King and Riggs. The match became the most televised sports event of all time.
This advance screening is a part of Chicks at the Flicks, the ultimate girls’ night out. More than just the movies, the gang will enjoy sweet treats, mini manicures, music, and live entertainment at 6:00 p.m., before the movie starts. Everyone will receive a goodie bag with a range of products from the event’s sponsors.

The Event Cinemas will bring you back to 1997 as they celebrate the anniversary of “Spice World: The Movie” on their big screen. It has been 20 years since the biggest girl band of the 90’s debuted in the movie industry. The story shows the Spice Girls zipping around London performing for their fans.
All tickets are just $15. You can upgrade to the Special Combo that includes ticket, drinks, popcorn and choco top, or the Special Ticket that already includes your choice of Posh or Scary Cocktail.

The Centrepoint Women will host a night of fun, food, and fashion. Guest Melbourne-based stylist Trish Gallard will be there to talk about fashion. She’ll be giving away some of her favourite pieces.

Step into Life will open their doors to the Chermside community for a family fun day of free sausage sizzles and other engaging activities for both kids and adults. Step into Life is a physical fitness centre that specializes in group outdoor training. Since 1995, they’ve grown to become one of the market leaders in outdoor training in Australia, with over 120 locations.

The New Groove Jazz Ensemble will visit Chermside for a special afternoon performance. Travel back in time as they perform the famous soundtracks of Hollywood movies from the golden era. The New Groove is a band that was formed in 1996 to keep jazz music alive. It is composed of 20 musicians who express their musical passion through big band, swing, Latin, blues, funk, and rock.
